Elmo has raised his sunflower, Sunny, from a seed, but the floral friend has outgrown his flower pot. Elmo and friends find Big Bird's garden the ideal place for Sunny to flourish and grow, but they are too excited to wait. Rather than let Sunny follow nature's course, Abby Cadabby, Sesame Street's fairy-in-training, casts a spell to make him grow. The spell does just the opposite and, instead of growing, Elmo and all of his friends shrink! CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG CHILDREN'S AUDITIONS!
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, the most fantasmagorical Broadway musical in the history of everything, is searching for six children in the Columbus area to make their stage debut with CHITTY at the Ohio Theatre when she arrives on March 24th for an 8-performance engagement through March 29th!

Based on the timeless novel by famed James Bond author and creator, Ian Fleming, the production features the music and lyrics by the legendary Sherman brothers, composers of Mary Poppins. The national tour also features an original script and fresh adaptation directed by Ray Roderick.  CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG boasts a beloved score, including memorable classics such as "Truly Scrumptious," "Toot Sweets," "Hushabye Mountain" and the Oscarâ-nominated title song, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

Auditions will be held at the Ohio Theatre in Rehearsal Room One of the Galbreath Pavilion on February 19th at 5pm.  Registration will begin at 4pm. Auditioning children are to arrive no later than 4:45pm, accompanied by a parent or guardian to check in.  Auditions will begin promptly at 5pm.  Each child will be asked to sing a cappella 16 bars from one up-tempo song of choice.  Children should be prepared to learn and execute simple choreography as part of the audition process. No decisions will be announced during the auditions.

Six children will be selected for the ensemble, and they will appear as orphans in Act 2 of every performance.  Two alternates will also be chosen.  Approximate ages should be between 8 and 12 years old – and have the appearance of children, NOT young adults.  Some rehearsals will be required, and information on scheduling for rehearsals and performances will be given out once the six children have been chosen. Professional experience and headshots are not required.

 The local children cast in the production and their parents or guardians will be provided rehearsal and performance information at a later date. The children will not receive any compensation, however this is a wonderful opportunity for children from Columbus to perform onstage with professional actors in their hometown.

Rieu, a Dutch violinist virtuoso and conductor of the Johann Strauss Orchestra, was born in Holland in 1949 into a very musical family. His father was a conductor, and most of his brothers and sisters are professional musicians. To overcome shyness onstage during his early career, and to remove the emotional distance between himself and the audience, Rieu adopted the example of Johann Strauss, who would create a festive atmosphere at his performances and encourage his audiences to enjoy the music by getting out of their seats and waltz in the aisles. This was well received, and Rieu assembled a group of local Dutch musicians, creating the Johann Strauss Orchestra.

AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account.
He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.
