Excerpts from Review: Wham! Bam: George Michael Dazzles – Andrew Davis – Windy City Times, Chicago. It's a testimony to George Michael's long and prolific career that he performed a 2 1/2-hour show at the United Center and still didn't sing all of his hits. There was no "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" for instance. But make no mistake: Michael certainly kept concertgoers more than satisfied in a packed arena July 9. Of course, it's not a true show without an encore, and—after an exhortation from the crowd that included the lights of a thousand cell phones—Michael actually had two, ending with "Freedom '90." Michael's voice was definitely in good form…

Goldfrapp delivered their debut album, Felt Mountain, in fall 2000. Felt Mountain went on to nearly universal acclaim and spawned several albums, including Utopia Genetically Enriched EP, which arrived in early 2001. In Spring 2003, Goldfrapp returned with Black Cherry. 2005 saw the release of the "Ooh La La" single and the full-length Supernature, both of which continued the disco and glam rock influences of the duo’s previous album. 2008’s The Seventh Tree moved in a calmer, more acoustic-based, but just as sonically lush direction. Since his 1994 debut 'Long Night Out,' Brian has been credited with bringing a youthful yet no less masterful energy to popular instrumental music with hit albums and singles. His sixth album, 'Nice & Slow' (2001) topped Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart for six weeks straight. And its follow-up, 'Come on Up' (2003) included his blazing cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's "Serpentine Fire," impressing Maurice White enough to want to work with him.

The Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour featuring Boys Like Girls and Good Charlotte with Metro Station and The Maine, comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall on Tuesday, July 29 at 7 pm.   The Boston-area band Boys Like Girls released their self-titled debut album in August 2006 and completed their first headlining tour.  They spent the better part of 2007 touring, and the album’s second single (The Great Escape) peaked at #9 on the Billboard Pop charts and eventually charted on the Billboard 200 album chart for the first time in April.
