 Acclaimed Czech singer and violinist Iva Bittová, saxophonist Don Byron, and guitarist Marc Ribot debut their new trio for a concert at Montalvo. A charismatic performer who simultaneously sings and plays the violin, Bittová is as much at home in classical music as in avant-garde and folk. In 2005, she began collaborating with one of the world's leading modern chamber groups, The Bang On A Can All-Stars, an ensemble where she first met the esteemed saxophonist Don Byron.

Bronx, New York-born Don Byron is a singular voice amidst an astounding range of musical contexts, exploring widely divergent traditions while continually striving for what he calls "a sound above genre." As a clarinetist, saxophonist, composer, arranger, and social critic, he's revered by many as an artist redefining every genre he touches whether it be classical, hip-hop, funk, klezmer, swing, bebop or far-reaching downtown NYC improvisation. During his prolific career, Byron performed in the New York-based band Rootless Cosmopolitans, where he played alongside guitarist Marc Ribot.

All Florida dates for the Bruce Springsteen Tour have now been rescheduled.  The new date for the Tampa show, originally scheduled for Monday, April 21 at the St. Pete Times Forum is now Tuesday, April 22nd. Additionally, shows initially postponed in Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale have been rescheduled as follows: the new date for the Orlando Show at the Amway Arena is Wednesday, April 23rd; and the new date for the Ft. Lauderdale show at the BankAtlantic Center is Friday, May 2nd.  The dates were rescheduled in respect for the untimely death of original E-Street Band keyboardist, Danny Federici.

Melissa Etheridge is coming to New York City to perform at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden for two shows this summer!

In February 2007, Melissa Etheridge celebrated a career milestone with a victory in the “Best Song” category at the Academy® Awards for “I Need to Wake Up,” written for the Al Gore documentary on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth.

Over the course of her more than two decades as a performer and songwriter, Etheridge has shown herself to be an artist who has never allowed “inconvenient truths” to keep her down. Just two and a half years ago, Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer, a health battle that, with her typical tenacity, she won. Despite losing her hair from chemotherapy, Etheridge appeared on the 2005 Grammy® telecast to sing “Piece of My Heart.” By doing so she gave hope to many women afflicted with the disease.

Last year, Melissa Etheridge received the distinguished ASCAP Founders Award honoring the anthemic power, compassion, and generosity of spirit of her music, and her enduring status as one of the greatest all-time female rock icons. This past September, she released her ninth studio album, The Awakening, a collection of powerful and playful yet confessional and engaging songs that was selected as one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 50 Albums of 2007.

More than two decades ago, Pat Benatar began breaking rules and blazed a new trail for female rock stars.  Songs such as "Love Is a Battlefield," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "We Live For Love," and "Heartbreaker" became anthems for a new attitude.  At the dawn of MTV, Pat was the image of the female rocker for an entire generation of young women, and the young men who loved them.

Still going strong, Pat has been married for 23 years to guitarist, songwriter, producer, collaborator and soul mate Neil Giraldo.  A talented artist, writer and producer, Neil has helped mold Pat's unique sound and has worked with a variety of other artists as well.  The parents of two daughters, Pat and Neil have been touring almost non-stop for over two decades.

Flight of the Conchords, New Zealand's self-proclaimed "4th most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo", are coming to The Chicago Theatre on May 14!

Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement (musician/funnyman and funnyman/musician, respectively) started crafting their unique, two-man comedy mélange in 2002, while the two of them were living together at university. Overcome by a dream, in which a V formation of Gibson Flying Vs resembled a gaggle of Concorde airplanes, the band christened themselves Flight of the Conchords and began honing their act in the local comedy and rock clubs around their town in the late '90s. By 2002, they could be found playing such high-profile gigs as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. When they returned to the fest in 2003, they were nominated for the Perrier Award, thus making them "the almost award-winning 4th most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo in New Zealand."

Between those gigs, Flight of the Conchords self-released the album Folk the World, was the subject of a six-part BBC Radio 2 broadcast series in 2005, and works on their very popular Cable TV show.
