After becoming the youngest winner ever on the sixth season of Idol in 2007, 18-year-old Jordin Sparks became an instant success with the release of her first album Jordin Sparks in November 2007.  Her first single “Tattoo” was a pop radio hit and peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.  As the daughter of a former football player for the New York Giants, Sparks was invited to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLII in February in her home state of Arizona.  She has also been featured as a performer on BET, MTV’s TRL, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Dr. Phil Show, Ellen Degeneres Show, The Teen Choice Awards.  Sparks’ new single “No Air,” a duet with R&B superstar Chris Brown, was recently released.

 
Flo Rida exploded onto the music scene in November with his single “Low” featuring T-Pain, which spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.  His debut single holds the record as the largest-selling digital single of all time as well as the most downloaded song in one week on iTunes.  Following his February performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the 28-year-old Florida native released his first album Mail on Sunday on March 18.  His new single, “Elevator,” which features artist/producer Timbaland, is currently climbing the charts.

David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash are "three together" once again as they gear up for a marathon spring and summer "Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) Tour of North America" including a stop at Meadow Brook Music Festival on Saturday, July 19 at 8 p.m.

It is the legendary trio's first tour since 2005 – the last time all three were united on the road in any configuration was for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's 2006 "Freedom Of Speech Tour."

Tickets at $75 and $45 pavilion and $20 lawn go on sale this Friday, March 28 at 10 a.m. at Palacenet.com, The Palace Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations.

2004 & 2007 World Series Trophies On Display This Sunday At The DCU Center!

What better way to kick-off baseball season than by heading down to the DCU Center Convention Center for a public viewing of the 2004 and 2007 World Series Trophies won by the Boston Red Sox! After the World Series victory in 2004, the Red Sox shared the triumph with their fan base by taking the World Championship Trophy to different cities and towns throughout Red Sox Nation. The team continues the tradition after the win in 2007, bringing the two trophies to the DCU Center this Sunday, March 30th!

The viewing will take place in the Showcase Corner of the Convention Center from 11:00AM to 3:30PM. Fans should enter Door #1 of the facility on Major Taylor Boulevard. This event is Free And Open To The Public.

Kathy Griffin is a producer, actress, and Emmy award winning stand up comedian.  She is from Chicago and began her career performing with an Improv group in the early 80's.  After she got her start she eventually got a part on the show Suddenly Susan and had a few small roles in movies.  She is well known for guest talk show host appearances on hit show The View and now has her own show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which appears on Bravo. The show was nominated in 2006 for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program.  In 2007 the show won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program. She is now taping the 4th season of her show which will air in the summer of 2008.

The Blues have completed a franchise-record nine game road trip and they're coming back home for their first game at Scottrade Center since March 4.

The Jonas Brothers are an up and coming pop rock band, hailing from New Jersey.  The group is made up of three brothers, Nicholas, Joseph, and Kevin Jonas.  Nicholas Jonas was discovered at the young age of six, when he began his solo and broadway career.  Eventually,  the other two brothers joined Nick in 2005 and began the group The Jonas Brothers.  In such a short time they have already released two albums and opened for many top performers including:  Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, The Backstreet Boys, Ally & AJ, and The Cheetah Girls.  Most recently, they opened for Miley Cyrus on the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds Tour, which was a smashing success, selling out every stop almost instantly.  The group has already reached a platinum selling title and number five spot with their self-titled album Jonas Brothers, along with a number one single S.O.S .

Poison, Dokken, and Sebastian Bach are teaming up to go on a North American tour druing the summer of 2008. Not many dates have been announced so far, but they will be coming in the next week or so.  Be on the lookout for presales in a city near you.  One particular presale will be happening in Boston March 19th.  All fans will need is the Posion preslae password to search for awesome seats in the front.

Poison is a well known American rock band that became popular in the 80's.  Over the years the band has created 12 albums and to this day they have sold over 25 million albums.  Current members of the band include: Bret Michaels, C.C. DeVille, Bobby Dall, and Ricky Rockett.  

Dokken is a heavy metal band also from America that got their start in the late 70's.  During their career they have released over 19 albums and have sold over 10 million copies.  Current members include: Don Dokken, Jon Levin, Barry Sparks, and Mick Brown.  

Finally, Sebastian Bach is a heavy metal singer originally from Canada.  You may remember him as the lead singer for Skid Row in the late 80's and early 90's.  Bach also performed with several other groups and did some solo work.  Recently he appeared on MTV's hit show Celebrity Rap Superstar, where he won the votes of several fans to finish in the top 3.

After a hugely successful 2007 tour, the fans have spoken and they want more.  Rush has extended its Snakes and Arrows World Tour into 2008 and will hit over 45 cities in the US and Canada and the first return to Orlando in more than 10 years.

Fans will experience the technical virtuosity and hard-rocking compositions they have come to expect from Rush members, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart. Foo Fighters are an American rock group that got their start in 1995.  Since then, they have created six albums and three of them recieved Grammy awards for Best Rock Album.  In just a little over a decade, the group has been nominated for 13 Grammy's and they have won 6 of them. Two of these Grammy's were won this year, one for their latest album Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace, and the other for Best Rock Performance for The Pretender. These are huge accomplishments is such a short period of time.

Foo Fighters tour will begin March 19 in Canada and run through the end of July.  They plan on making over 40 stops all over the world while on tour.  The will be visiting the U.S., Canada, England, Sweeden, UK, and Japan.  So far it only looks like the will be performing 8 shows in the U.S. However, they have been adding shows.

In 2007, The Police thrilled millions of fans around the globe.  Their much heralded tour, which has sold over 2.5 million tickets, garnered numerous accolades including: Major Tour of The Year (Pollstar), as well as "Tour of the Year" and "Top Selling Tour of 2007" (Billboard Magazine).

The Police return to North America this summer to play their final area appearances in arenas and amphitheaters predominantly in markets where they did not perform in 2007. An additional 30 dates have been confirmed beginning May 1st in Ottawa and culminating August 4th at Wantagh, NY's Jones Beach. Along the way, the tour will visit The Gorge in Seattle, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, the Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl and Orlando's Amway Arena.

Elvis Costello and The Imposters will join The Police for the North American portion of this year's tour.  Also spanning a career of 30 years, Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. The Kids in the Hall is a comedy group that originated in Canada in the mid 80's.  The group consists of five comedians: Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, Scott Thompson, and Bruce McCulloch.  You may recall this television show that aired duing the late 80's through the mid 90's.  After the show ended the group came up with the movie Brain Candy, which came out in 1996.  In 2000 the group decided to hit the road and go on tour.  Their show was made up of about 20 of their favorite skits reenacted.  Since then we have not heard too much from them other than a few brief appearances here and there.

Soulja Boy is an American rap artist from Chicago.  However, it wasn't until he moved to Atlanta, Georgia that he became interested in rap music.  He began in 2005 by posting his work on You Tube and later starting his own my space to showcase his music.  In 2007 he recorded Crank That and released his first independent album.  Soon after the song received it's first airplay, Soulja Boy signed with Interscope Records. His first real studio album climbed the charts all the way to #4 on the Billboard top 200.  He was also nomiated for a Grammy for Best Rap Song.

Soulja Boy is working hard preparing for his first tour, where he will perform alongside popular rap artists including:  Lil Mama, Tiffany Evans, and V.I.C.  So far he has scheduled 15 performances during the months of April and May.  Some of the stops will include the other artists and some will be solo.  Most of the performances will be held in intimate venues and places like the House of Blues.  Most venues will have a small capacity, making it hard to get tickets close to the event date.

The event will consist of head-to-head monster truck racing and the widely popular monster truck freestyle competition. The monster truck racing segment will feature bracket style side-by-side racing. The Monster Jam freestyle competition gives the trucks the chance to run wild with the goal being to be the most crowd-pleasing. The trucks will attempt sky wheelies, tornado style donuts, and possibly a roll over.
Monster Trucks scheduled to compete will be Grave Digger, Eradicator, Safe Auto Minimizer, Captain's Curse, BackDraft and The Broker (subject to change).

In 2007, The Police thrilled millions of fans around the globe.  Their much heralded tour, which has sold over 2.5 million tickets, garnered numerous accolades including: Major Tour of The Year (Pollstar), as well as "Tour of the Year" and "Top Selling Tour of 2007" (Billboard Magazine).

The Police return to North America this summer to play their final area appearances in arenas and amphitheaters predominantly in markets where they did not perform in 2007. An additional 30 dates have been confirmed beginning May 1st in Ottawa and culminating August 4th at Wantagh, NY's Jones Beach. Along the way, the tour will visit The Gorge in Seattle, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, the Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl and Orlando's Amway Arena.

Elvis Costello and The Imposters will join The Police for the North American portion of this year's tour.  Also spanning a career of 30 years, Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. He has received a number of Grammy nominations for his recent albums When I Was Cruel, The Delivery Man and for his 2006 collaboration with Allen Toussaint, The River in Reverse.  His songs have been recorded by a great number of artists with a list as diverse as his range of musical styles including: No Doubt, Solomon Burke, Dusty Springfield, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash.

Seventeen concert dates on the Van Halen tour are being rescheduled so that Eddie Van Halen, who is currently under doctors' care, can continue medical tests to define a course of treatment.  This includes the April 9th concert scheduled for Manchester, NH. The tour will resume on April 19th and rescheduled dates will be announced shortly. Fans should retain their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled concerts or ticket refunds will be issued at the original point of purchase.
