The legendary Bob Weir along with his band RatDog comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 pm.  Weir has a secure place in rock history as the Grateful Dead’s co-vocalist.  Andrew Clarke of The Independent, one of England’s leading newspapers, has called him the genre’s “greatest, if most eccentric rhythm guitarist.”  What began as a side project has become Weir’s primary band since the death of Grateful Dead band mate Jerry Garcia in August of 1995. Since the St. Pete Times Forum hosted its first XFC mixed martial arts (MMA) fight card in November 2007, multiple new MMA gyms have opened in the Tampa area. Dozens of local fighters have turned professional. Several of these fighters made their professional debut at XFC's "Salute to Our Armed Forces 2" fight card which took place in March 2008.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is an evolving combat art in which competitors use integrated forms of fighting that includes jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, Taekwon-Do, wrestling and others to overcome their opponent in a sanctioned and supervised match. Competitors are allowed to use all martial techniques to end the fight within the limits of the Mainstream MMA rules.

This important event — which recognizes and celebrates excellence in Latin music — will feature performances from the hottest and most prestigious names in the genre. This marks the first time Houston will host the premier international showcase of Latin music and Toyota Center will broadcast the event live to the world! The event will be co-hosted by actors Cristián de la Fuente and Patricia Manterola.

Awards will be presented by actors Daniela Castro, César Evora, Eduardo Santamarina, Karyme Lozano, Eugenio Siller, Mayrín Villanueva, and Montserrat Olivier; Univision radio personality Raúl Brindis; Tejano recording artist Bobby Pulido; current Latin GRAMMY® nominees Ednita Nazario, Ximena Sariñana, Buika, Alexis & Fido, Cabas, Kenny G., and Kudai; and two-time GRAMMY® and nine-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Juan Luis Guerra.

Performers include Café Tacvba, 2008 Latin Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Vikki Carr, Flex featuring Belinda, Kany García, David Lee Garza, Alejandra Guzmán, Juanes, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Rosario, Olga Tañón, Julieta Venegas, Banda El Recodo, Jorge Celedón y Jimmy Zambrano, Fonseca, Jenni Rivera and brother Lupillo Rivera, Michael Salgado, Los Tigres Del Norte, Tommy Torres, El Mariachi Vargas, and Emiliano Zuleta.

Walt Disney Records' multi-platinum recording group The Cheetah Girls (Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan and Kiely Williams) have launched their North American "Cheetah Girls One World Tour" with a visit to the Verizon Wireless Arena this Fall. The 50-date nationwide concert tour supports the soundtrack and third Disney Channel Original Movie, "The Cheetah Girls One World." The tour will make a stop in Manchester on Sunday, November 16th.
