UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (March 31, 2008)—Breakthrough rap artist Flo Rida will join American Idol sensation Jordin Sparks for a special performance at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, April 20. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show will be $37.50 for the general public and $20.00 for University Park Students (one ticket per ID) courtesy of FAB.
After becoming the youngest winner ever on the sixth season of Idol in 2007, 18-year-old Jordin Sparks became an instant success with the release of her first album Jordin Sparks in November 2007. Her first single “Tattoo” was a pop radio hit and peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. As the daughter of a former football player for the New York Giants, Sparks was invited to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLII in February in her home state of Arizona. She has also been featured as a performer on BET, MTV’s TRL, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Dr. Phil Show, Ellen Degeneres Show, The Teen Choice Awards. Sparks’ new single “No Air,” a duet with R&B superstar Chris Brown, was recently released.
Flo Rida exploded onto the music scene in November with his single “Low” featuring T-Pain, which spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut single holds the record as the largest-selling digital single of all time as well as the most downloaded song in one week on iTunes. Following his February performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the 28-year-old Florida native released his first album Mail on Sunday on March 18. His new single, “Elevator,” which features artist/producer Timbaland, is currently climbing the charts.
